Chosen by God!
In order to be an heir you must be a part of the family, either through birth or adoption. In order to inherit someone must die.
Do you know that as a child of God you are an heir with Jesus Christ and you have an inheritance?
Romans 8:14-17 NKJV: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
Being led by the Spirit makes us sons/daughters of God. We were adopted into the family. God becomes our “Abba” Daddy Father. As a result we are joint-heirs with Jesus Christ. Everything He has we have access to.
Imagine for a moment that you are given an inheritance that meets every need you’ll ever have. Then imagine never fully accessing that inheritance. You put the knowledge of that inheritance on the side, in the closet, out of sight while continuing to struggle. Our loving Abba Father has laid out our inheritance in His Word.
Not only has God given us an inheritance, He’s given us the ultimate Gift in Jesus Christ. He gave us continuous gifts through Jesus Christ.
John 3:16 AMP: For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.” Our eternity is sealed once we believe.
It's critical to know who we are and Who we belong to. Ignorance of God's Word will cause us to live below our rights as a child of God, and a joint heir with Jesus Christ.
