Chosen by God!
Our prayers are hindered by our sin and when we are out of fellowship with others. It’s important to make sure we address the sin in our lives by repentance, a change of heart, and a change of ways. Jesus paid the price for our past, present, and future sins, but that does not mean we should not ask for forgiveness. Sin separates us from God which is why He gave us a way out:
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9 HCSB)
He provided this way of restoration so we can walk in fellowship with our Abba Father and with our fellow man. If we don’t deal with the sin in our lives it becomes easy for our hearts to be hardened and less sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
We can have confidence in God’s restoration.
Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” (Lamentations 3:22-24 MSG)
We can rest assured that God does not condemn us.
"Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]." (Romans 8:1 AMP)
