Chosen by God!
To have intimate fellowship with God and one another, we must use the teachings of Scripture to evaluate our attitudes and actions. Sometimes it is difficult to purposely measure our behavior with the teachings of the Bible. When you are unfamiliar with the teachings in the Bible or when you don’t reverence God’s Word as the foundation for character and behavior it would not be readily used to measure behavior.
It can become easy to allow the standards of the world to become the measurement for behavior. Even believers can fall into this trap when we don’t place value on the Word by making it a priority. It’s through loving and reverencing the Word that we will obey it, making it our standard, our foundation, for life. This can only happen by spending quality time in the Word so it can get it our hearts and become our anchor and compass in life. Without this kind of relationship with the Word we will never us the Word to measure our behavior by its teachings.
