God Does Not Change

Chosen by God!

Though everything around us may be changing, we are to put our faith in the Word of God, which will endure forever. This biblical truth can help all of us to be encouraged in the midst of changing values in our culture. It can become our anchor of truth based on God’s Word, which is God’s character. Throughout Scripture God’s character is unveiled and because of His consistency we can believe He is who He says He is and that He will do what He says He will do.

We live in a world that constantly changes. What is right becomes wrong and what is wrong becomes right. God does not operate this way. His way, His Word, is right and He does not change based on public opinion. He is constant and that’s what gives us peace in an ever changing world.

These two Scriptures show us a glimpse of God’s character:

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19 NLT)

“For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

God planned for us and His love for us is everlasting. We were on His mind before the very foundations of the earth. If He was thinking about us then, loving us then, He’s thinking about us now and loving us now.

Here’s a few Scriptures that clearly shows how He feels about us:

For though the mountains should depart and the hills be shaken or removed, yet My love and kindness shall not depart from you nor shall My covenant of peace and completeness be removed says the Lord, who has compassion on you. (Isaiah 54:10 AMP)

Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy, (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. For He foreordained us (designed us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]. (Ephesians 1:4-5 AMP)

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship) recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. (Ephesians 2:10 AMP)
