Chosen by God!
We should walk in God’s ways, being assured that regardless of our circumstances we are secure in Christ, now and eternally. The “perfect will of God” is “good” and “pleasing” regardless of our circumstances because God does not change. He is good and loving no matter what we go through and His love for us is constant and eternal. It is for these reasons that we must live according to Romans 12:1-2:1
“Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2 HCSB)
We are to be living sacrifices, putting God’s will before our own will, so we can be holy and pleasing to God. This is our spiritual worship because of the sacrifice that Jesus made in for us, in place of us. He gave His life so we could live. As a result we must not be conformed to this world, getting comfortable here. This is not our home and our time here is limited. Instead we must be transformed, living the life Jesus died to give us, by renewing our minds in the Word. It’s only through this time in the Word, and in God’s Presence, that we will be able to discern, “what is the good and pleasing, and perfect will of God.”
