Unity At All Costs

Chosen by God!

When we consider who God is and what He has done for us, we should worship and serve Him with the utmost humility. We must be careful not to become prideful forgetting God’s gift of grace in our lives. We must remember what we are, and who we are, the talent we have, are the results of what God has placed in us. Whatever we accomplish is because of Him. When we try to take credit for anything we do positions us to become prideful. We must remember to give God the glory.

We must also extend grace to others because so much grace has been extended to us. To refuse giving the gift of grace is based in pride and says the blood of Jesus doesn’t cover whatever offense we face. We must consistently fight allowing the spirit of offense to dominate in our relationships. When we can do this and walk in love then our worship will be pure and pleasing to our Abba Father.

We must also remember that God loves unity. Jesus prayed about unity before leaving earth.

“I am no longer in the world; yet they are still in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, so that they may be one just as We are.” (John 17:11 AMP)

“I have given to them the glory and honor which You have given Me, that they may be one, just as We are one” (John 17:22 AMP)

Since unity is important to Jesus then it must be a priority for us. We are to reflect Him in all things. We can’t let petty offenses cause us to walk in discord. When we choose offense and discord instead of love we are discounting the power of the blood. As believers we must protect the unity of the Body of Christ.

I'm learning that pride is at the root of an unwillingness to forgive and a willingness to hold on to offense. How do believers choose offense instead of dealing with the issues they have with one another - especially one believer to another.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” (Proverbs 16:18 NKJV)

Don’t let the spirit of offense keep you in bondage. No one should have that much power over you.
