Don't Let Sin Entice You

Chosen by God!

When we fail God morally, we are to confess our sins and accept complete forgiveness through the shed blood of Christ.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (I John 1:9 HCBS)

Forgiveness is available to all of us, no matter what sin we may have committed. It’s important that we have deep sorrow and true repentance when we ask for forgiveness.

The best way to help Christians accept forgiveness and maintain biblical standards in terms of sexual purity is by making sure they clearly understand what repentance is and how it aids in forgiveness. We should help them understand the importance of not placing themselves in temptations way. There are some sin’s that can be avoided if we made different choices.

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (I Corinthians 10:13 NKJV)

We must show them how sin breaks God’s heart so they can develop a lifestyle that does not want to break His heart. We must also explain the consequences of sin and a hardened heart.

“Therefore, since Christ suffered in the flesh [and died for us], arm yourselves [like warriors] with the same purpose [being willing to suffer for doing what is right and pleasing God], because whoever has suffered in the flesh [being like-minded with Christ] is done with [intentional] sin [having stopped pleasing the world], so that he can no longer spend the rest of his natural life living for human appetites and desires, but [lives] for the will and purpose of God.” (I Peter 4:1-2 AMP)

When we spend time with God and in His Word we learn His ways. Through the Holy Spirit we are able to apply His Word to our lives.
