Chosen by God!
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” (Matthew 11:28-30 MSG)
Jesus invites us to rest in Him. It's an invitation that we can either choose, or reject. The question is, are you tired, worn out, or burned out period? If so, Jesus is the answer. It doesn't mean we won't have trials, conflict, or challenges. He doesn't wipe that away. What He has done is given us His peace and rest in the storms of life. We'll be able to face them boldly in His strength.
Jesus gave us this reassurance in the storms of life:
“I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]” (John 16:33 Amplified)
So the question is, how would we act if we knew, and really believed, that we had the victory in whatever we’re facing today? Well, act like that, because in Him we have already won, overcome, walk in victory, and so much more!
We do have choices. I love that about our Abba Father. He doesn't force us to do anything. We can choose to rest in Him or we can choose to worry. The good news is the more we learn of His Word, hiding it in our heart, the easier it becomes for our choices to align with His Word. So chose to rest in Him, you already have the victory!
