Chosen by God!
To experience God’s divine power and presence in our lives, we must place our trust in Christ our Savior. To experience the peace of God we must have peace with God. Peace is a gift from God to all believers. His peace is based on us accepting Jesus as Savior and making Him Lord of our lives. With this acceptance comes the peace of knowing that we will live eternally with God no matter what happens on earth. Our salvation is settled.
“Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 AMP)
His peace allows us to walk in peace in the midst of all kinds of turmoil. His peace anchors us when everything around us is going crazy. This is a peace that the world can’t give to us and the world doesn’t understand it. His peace helps us to keep our hearts and minds on Him helping us to trust and believe that whatever we are going through it will work out for our good.
God made a very powerful promise concerning peace in His Word:
“You will guard and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on you, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.” (Isaiah 26:3 AMP)
Keeping our minds on Him is the key to walking in peace that transcends all understanding. It’s only through relationship, son-ship, with Him that this gift of peace is given to us.
