The Lord is my Shepherd

Chosen by God!

“The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, to guide and to shield me], I shall not want. Even though I walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.” (Psalm 23:1, 4 AMP)

The Lord is my Shepherd. That says it all. When He is really our Shepherd everything is taken care of. All we have to do is surrender and allow ourselves to be led, fed, directed, and protected.

It’s so important to know who God is in our lives. Psalms 23:1 reminds us that He is our Shepherd. This means He leads us, guides us, protects us, and provides for us. In Him we find everything we need. There is nothing we need that He cannot provide.

Shepherds take care of their sheep, losing none. They give their lives for their sheep. Our Abba, Father, knows us personally. We’re not part of a group. We’re individuals who are God’s Masterpiece, a Divine Originals! We matter so much to Him.

Shadows have no power. They are imitations. When we face overwhelming things we must remember that we don’t face them alone. That means we don’t have to fear anything or anyone. God is with us, protecting and guiding us. He comforts and consoles us. Knowing this we can walk in confidence and peace. God’s got this, and He’s got us!

"I’ve picked you. I haven’t dropped you. Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you. I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you." (Isaiah 41:9b-10 MSG)
