Chosen by God!
God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], a very present and well-proved help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains be shaken and slip into the heart of the seas.” (Psalm 46:1-2 AMP)
When I looked at this Scripture the word that stood out for me was refuge. Noah Webster defines refuge as:
“That which shelters or protects from danger, distress or calamity; a strong hold which protects by its strength, or a sanctuary which secures safety by its sacredness; any place inaccessible to an enemy.”
This is who God is to us a refuge, a place of safety where nothing can touch us or destroy us. No matter what we’re going through in life, no matter what challenges we face, we have a place of refuge, a place of peace, where the world can’t touch us.
This Scripture also reminds us that God is our strength. This means we don’t fight in our own might. We have the power of Almighty God available to us! His arsenal is endless and has provision for any kind of battle we may face. No matter what we face we don’t have to face it in fear. We can face it in faith because we don’t face it alone!
This verse sums it all up for me:
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!" (Psalm 91:1-2 AMP)
I like the "Remain stable and fixed," and "Whose power no foe can withstand!" We need to be and remain, stable in every area of our lives! We are EMPOWERED knowing that, no foe, can withstand the power of God.
The enemy does not get the victory!
