Inviting God to Set Our Goals

Chosen by God!

Many of us began the New Year with resolutions, dreams, and visions. It's now the last year of the quarter and a good time to evaluate where you are, where you need to go, and what fine tuning you might need to make. It's also a good time to talk to God about 2017.

We set goals but do we think about a plan of action? Have we invited Jesus to set our goals and give us His plan of action?

I would invite you to prayerfully consider your goals and plans. Filter them through the Word, because it's His Word that sustains us and will help us to be successful.

“And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3 AMP)

You see, writing the goals, making them plain, keeping them before you is what is going to inspire you to reach your goals. Trust that God will make your plans a success when the plan is anchored in Him.

“And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful!” (Psalm 90:17 NLT)

When your goals are based on the Word of God, reflecting the heart of God, then God will get involved.

“Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.” (Jeremiah 1:12 AMP)
