"Guard Against the Spirit of Offense at All Costs!"

Chosen by God!

Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!” (Luke 17:1 NKJV)

Opportunities to offend and to be offended will be presented daily. We have a choice to accept or decline the invitation of offense. The Word shows us clearly how to handle offenses.

“He who covers and forgives an offense seeks love, but he who repeats or gossips about a matter separates intimate friends.” (Proverbs 17:9 AMP)

Are we covering, or exposing, offenses? Yes, they hurt and yes, we want to be vindicated, yet the Word says to cover an offense. We can only do this when we’re willing to humble ourselves and let God be our defense, our covering.

“My shield and my defense depend on God, Who saves the upright in heart.” (Psalm 7:10 AMP)

Faith Confession:

Lord, I am going to keep my eyes on You in every area of my life. I will not entertain a spirit of offense. I don’t want to become my own stumbling block and I will not give anyone else that kind of power over my. My response is to trust You to heal the hurt, and walk in love.

Prayer:

Father, please forgive me for the offenses I have caused and for the times I’ve been offended. I, too, forgive those who have offended me, and ask that they forgive me, also. Thank You for Your love that covers me at all times. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that allows me to come boldly to Your throne, to receive grace and mercy. You are an awesome God. I believe I receive forgiveness from offenses. I declare it done. I pray this prayer in faith and on the authority of the Name of Jesus. Amen.
