Be Holy!

Chosen by God!

Even though we are able to enter God’s awesome presence because of Christ’s sacrificial death, we are to remember that we are worshiping a holy God. The first step we can take as Christians to conform our lives to God’s holiness is to surrender our lives to Him. In order to surrender to God we must trust God, trust His unconditional and everlasting love for us. Once we trust Him we can be led by Him.

To trust Him we must spend time with Him and in His Word. It’s important that we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and believe everything written in it. As we read His Word we should ask the Holy Spirit to open our eyes see we can see wondrous things in His Word. (See Psalm 119:18) As we read His Word the Holy Spirit will instruct us on how to apply it to our lives when we invite Him to do so.

“But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.” (John 14:26 AMPC)

What should drive us in all these things is our own love for God and what He has done for us. Once we get a true revelation of our salvation, God’s grace, mercy, forgiveness, and love then we will truly want to take every step possible to be more like Him. Loving Him and reverencing Him will become natural.

We can’t do any of these things on our own and thankfully God did not leave us to our own devices. He gave us His Holy Spirit to lead and guide us to all truth. He has given us everything we need to be holy and become more and more like Him.

“But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.” (I Peter 1:15-16 AMPC)
