Benefits of Journaling

Chosen by God!

Journaling our prayers is an awesome way to pray and keep track of our Abba Father’s answers. It can also become a source of encouragement when we feel anxious, start to worry or become fearful. We can go back and see the hand of God in our circumstances. It will remind us of all He’s done and help us believe Him when He says:

“…For He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!]: (Hebrews 13:5b AMPC)

Sometimes the enemy wants us to think that God has abandoned us, doesn't love us, or doesn't care about us. And that is not the truth. Even when it looks like we are all alone and nothing is going on or going our way, we can rest assured that He is right there with us and He is working it out for us.

“We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose.” (Romans 8:28 AMPC)

Remembering prior victories through our loving Father, strengthens and encourages, us to go on. It reminds us that He has never left us and He will work it all out for our good.

My journal is a variety of colors and I love the way it looks when flipping through it. I write thoughts, questions, prayers, insights in purple, Scripture is in red, not very original I know, quotes from others or devotionals that speak to my heart in a light sky blue, words people have spoken into my life are navy blue, Bible study notes, thoughts, insight in orange. I have a section called, "Provision, Blessings, and Favor," which is green! That's where I remind myself of all God has done for me that day. The color makes it easy to find when I need a quick "hug" from Him! It’s also allows me to combat the lies of the enemy when he says, “God doesn’t care.” I can then speak the truth of just how much He cares personally.

I pray that this will encourage you to journal, consider journaling, or to continue to journal, your prayers and thoughts concerning God. Make it pretty/appealing along the way! It doesn't matter how much you write, if you miss a day or miss weeks. Get creative and make it fun, so you'll be consistent. It's between you and your Abba Father!

Be Encouraged! ❤
