Choosing Humilty

Chosen by God!

“He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, and to love kindness and mercy, and to humble yourself and walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 AMPC)

We should always demonstrate a deep sense of humility in our walk with God and in our relationships with all people.

“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life—a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28 HCSB)

This Scripture shows us the key to demonstrating humility. It’s through service, serving others that we can best demonstrate Christlike humility. When we are willing to give of ourselves, especially when it costs us something, (time, talent, finances, etc.) that we look more like Jesus.

“Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.” (Philippians 2:3 HCSB)

What we do should not be about praise from people, to be seen, admired, or praised. It should be with a heart of service and remembering that all we do in word and actions should be unto the Lord.

“For most of us, life is a series of uncelebrated steps. But God often writes His story right in the middle of our ordinary everyday affairs.” (Krista Williams – Proverbs 31 Ministry)

We should remember that God sees us, even when, or if, no one else sees us or wants to acknowledge us. When we do what we do to honor God then we will walk in humility. Ultimately our goal should be to hear His, “Well done My good and faithful servant.”
