What Are You Thinking About?

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7a NKJV)

I am trying to consistently think about what I am thinking about. I have seen the power of my thoughts in dictating my words and actions. They are like gas for a car. You put in the right octane and you get good performance. You put in the wrong octane and it doesn't perform as well, and may even break down. What goes in the car determines how the car will run. I'm taking inventory of my thoughts because I want to "run" right!

I have been meditating a lot on this Scripture:

"Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies." (Philippians 4:8-9 MSG)

It’s important that we align our thoughts with what the Word of God says. We cannot entertain random thoughts. Our thoughts are powerful and they drive the direction of our lives. What we think about we will speak about and eventually act on. We must think about what we are thinking about.
