God is for Me

Chosen by God!

“Whom have I in heaven but you? I desire you more than anything on earth. My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever.” (Psalm 73:25-26 NLT)

This Psalm begins with envy over the wicked prospering, seemingly without problems and questioning his keeping his heart pure for possibly no reason. Then the realization comes that the wicked will be punished. There’s a realization that we only have God. He’s where we set our desire. What’s going on with the wicked is not our concern. What their lives may look like isn’t all that’s going on. Acquiring material possessions is not our goal. Our focus is on things eternal, wanting God more than we want anything else or anyone else. There will be a time when our health may fail and our spirit may grow weak but God remains the strength of our hearts. As long as we have Him we have everything. He is ours forever. No one, nothing can change that.

I am reminded that there will be justice and judgment where God is concerned. I can’t let myself be concerned with the wicked and how those that don’t serve God appear to have it all together, seemingly having all they need. Instead I can rest assured that God is on my side. He will provide. He is my peace.

“What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]” (Romans 8:31 AMPC)

What is going on around me is not as important as what is going on in me. If I keep my focus on God, my eternity, then nothing that happens on earth can derail my final destination. My victory in Him is secure.

I have God and I desire Him, intimate relationship with Him, more than anything else or anyone else. No matter what goes on in my body and spirit God will always remain the strength of my heart. He is mine forever. Nothing can change that. My eternity is sealed with the blood of Jesus Christ. He did a complete work on Calvary. There is nothing lacking. ‘”It is finished!”

Faith Confession:

Lord, I thank You that You are who I have and all I need. I desire you more than anything on earth. No matter what happens to me here, my eternity is sealed and secured by the blood of Jesus Christ. Thank You that we share an intimate relationship and an unbreakable bond. You are mine and I am Yours. You, Abba Father will always remain the strength of my heart. You are mine forever. Nothing, or no one can change that.
