Chosen by God!
“He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.” (Titus 2:14 NLT)
The words that stand out in this verse to me are:
He gave His life
Free from sin
Cleanse us
Made us His own people
Totally committed
Good deeds
When I think of the magnitude of the gift of salvation I am humbled. I stand in awe of a God that loves us so much He gave His only begotten Son to die in our place. He wanted us that much. Because of sin we were eternally separated from God, yet God bridged the gap through Jesus. Jesus stepped out of eternity and into human form just for us. His sacrifice freed us from sin. It cleansed us making us righteous in God’s sight. He sees us through the blood of Jesus, redeemed, cleansed, set free, His treasured children. We are His very own chosen people. As a result of all He has done for us we should be totally committed to doing good deeds.
“God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT)
Those good deeds are not to gain favor with God, we already have His favor and His love, but to express our love for Him. Our works have an assignment, to glorify God.
Faith Confession:
Abba Father, thank You for setting me free from every kind of sin. I rejoice that sin cannot rule over me because of the blood of Jesus. Jesus, thank You for giving Your life for mine. You are the ultimate expression of love. Thank You that whom the Son sets free is free indeed so I declare I am FREE! I cannot be bound again. Hallelujah. Thank You for cleansing me from all unrighteousness. You left nothing to chance. I am Yours, Your very own precious treasure. I love You Abba Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit. I am totally committed to doing good deeds to bring glory to Your Name!
