Chosen by God!
We have finished reading the “will!” We can continue to unpack our inheritance in Christ.
On Day 1 our point was, “As a Child of God, You Have an Inheritance.” On Days 2 – 5 our point was, “Know the Gifts You Have Access To.” We looked at multiple gifts during those days. Know that these were just a sampling and God’s Word has many more gifts available to us as believers. I encourage you to search them out and walk in them. Day 6 our point was “Chosen by God!” Day 7 our point was, “We Serve A Triune God and Each Part of the Trinity Has Given us Gifts.” Today we will we will look at a gift we can give God:
#8 – Walk Boldly in Who We Are:
One of the best gifts we can give to God, and the world, is to walk boldly in who we are, by seeing ourselves the way God sees us. This comes by defining ourselves by what the Word says about us and not what the world says about us.
Seeing ourselves the way God sees us is the only way we’ll be able to walk in the inheritance He’s given us.
(Do you remember the spies in Numbers scouting out the Promised Land? See Number 13 for details. How they saw themselves determined their ability to walk into the Promised Land. Since they saw themselves as grasshoppers they did not believe they could possess the land and because of that they did not. Believing we are who God says we are is the key to walking in the inheritance He’s given us.)
His Word says we are:
We are - Created in His image (Genesis 1:27 NKJV) (He created the world with words and we can create our world with our words.)
We are - God’s masterpiece created with purpose to do great works for the Kingdom (Ephesians 2:10 NLT) (That means we are originals, not a replica! No one in the world can do what we do in the way that we can do it. He’s gifted us individually.)
We are - Precious and honored in His sight (Isaiah 43:4 NKJV) (Think about that a moment, precious and honored is how God sees us.)
We are - Redeemed and forgiven (Ephesians 1:7 NKJV) (That means God sees us through the blood of Jesus which makes us right with Him.)
We are - New creations in Christ (II Corinthians 5:17 AMPC) (We’re not the same person we were before we encountered God and accepted the gift of the Holy Spirit. Our past is over.)
We are - Holy and blameless before God (Ephesians 1:4 NKJV) (Again God sees us through the blood of Jesus which makes us right with God.)
We are - Chosen by God, being built into a spiritual house (I Peter 2:4-5 NIV) (God wanted us. We’re not His by default! He chose us on purpose for His purpose!)
By accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we have the opportunity to give our best, by becoming a yielded vessel for God’s use.
Through Jesus we’re given the power to live for Him and walk in all that His life, death, and resurrection purchased for us! To do anything less is to tell God the blood does not work, that it did not work!
Well, I thought today was the end of our series but I have one more gem to share with you. I hope you will join me tomorrow for the end of this life transforming series.
Be Encouraged! ❤
