A Time of Pruning

Chosen by God!

“I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.” (John 15:1-2 AMPC)

Our Abba Father wants the best for us, the best in us, and the best to come out of us. He’s not going to leave us just as we are. Pruning is not just about people, it’s about attitudes, mindsets, soul ties, priorities, and so much more. Pruning is always painful but

“Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me.” (John 15:4 AMPC)

While we are to dwell in Him always, it’s critical to do so during the pruning process. If we’re not careful we can try to replace what’s being pruned by filling up the spaces ourselves. Instead, let Jesus fill the spaces He has created.

The cutting and the pruning are painful, it can look crazy, and it won’t always make sense, but we have to trust Him. Trust His love for us. The purpose is to leave the vine, us, more fruitful.

God doesn't take away, or move away, without a reason. Some seasons require more room.
