Opened Doors, Closed Doors

Chosen by God!

Doors can invite us in or cause us to exit. Either way doors require action on our part. They are also symbolic of what God is doing in our lives.

“I see what you’ve done. Now see what I’ve done. I’ve opened a door before you that no one can slam shut. You don’t have much strength, I know that; you used what you had to keep my Word. You didn’t deny me when times were rough.” (Revelation 3:8 MSG)

God opens doors and He closes them. What He opens no man can shut and what He closes we should not try to open. The key is recognizing exactly what He is doing.

I’ve been thinking about some entrances and exits in my life, (opened doors, closed doors), some made by me and some made by others. I am evaluating lessons I have learned, a hard, but necessary, pill to swallow. I've learned that some people I was tied to were not necessarily tied to me. As a result I stayed longer than I should have. Sometimes we ignore the handwriting on the wall. Sometimes we see what we want to see, what we need to see.

When I consider the above revelation with what I wrote earlier, "Sometimes emotions will keep you tied to people and situations instead of assignment. Make sure you're connected to the right people and in the right place," I realize I have to be more aware of what's really going on, both naturally and spiritually.

Life's not easy. Staying can be hard. Leaving can be hard. Either way, you have to move in the direction God is leading you. He sees what we can't see and sometimes what we won't see.

I saw a post the other day that said, "An open door is as much an exit as it is an entrance." Maybe God is telling me something for this season of my life. Now I need to know if the door I face is an exit or an entrance.
