Chosen by God!
Allow yourself to feel what you're feeling. It's okay to feel the impact of what is going on in your life. We are never to deny the facts but remember, we can apply the Truth – God’s Word to every circumstance and change the outcome. Then allow our heavenly Daddy to walk your through the process of healing. Think Jehoshaphat, in II Chronicles 20! He looked at what was going on, experienced fear, then made a choice to bring it to God.
“Then Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself [determinedly, as his vital need] to seek the Lord; he proclaimed a fast in all Judah.” (II Chronicles 20:3 AMPC)
Sometimes we try to get to healing without experiencing the process that gets us there. It's like we want to skip over it. See King Jehoshaphat feared – BUT – he did not remain in fear. Once he experienced the fear he moved to faith and the truth he knew about God and He sought His help. The question we have to ask ourselves is what do we do when fear, the challenges of life come? What we do in those defining moments will determine our outcome.
King Jehoshaphat did some key things:
He feared, He asked God for guidance, He declared a fast to seek the Lord’s help, He declared who God was and what He had done in the past, He declared that they had treated these people fairly and now they were coming against them, And finally, he made on of the most powerful declarations in the Bible (to me):
“O our God, will You not exercise judgment upon them? For we have no might to stand against this great company that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (II Chronicles 20:12 AMPC)
He asked for God’s help, declared they could not fight this battle alone, and most importantly admitted they did not know what to do but they were keeping their eyes on Him. They humbled themselves.
Keep your eyes on Him. He's moving you through it so you can get to it! He loves you so much! You're stronger than you think and each time you go through a challenge allowing yourself to lean on Him you get even stronger! Always remember, you and God are a majority.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].” (Psalm 91:1 AMPC)
