Pearls of Wisdom - Speak God's Truth

Chosen by God!

Our spiritual priority as it relates to our commitment to follow Jesus Christ is to follow Jesus Christ. Our choices and words should not only reflect Him but bring Him glory. We cannot compromise or water down His truth catering to what people want to hear that may justify their wrong choices or applaud their spiritual immaturity. We can’t give an imbalanced Gospel sharing the feel good parts without giving the consequences for sin, wrong choices, and ignoring who Jesus is and what He has done. While God gives us choices each choice has consequences – good or bad depending on the choice we make. God is so for us He will lead us to the right choice and how to walk successfully in the choice.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life so that you and your descendants may live, love the Lord your God, obey Him, and remain faithful to Him. For He is your life, and He will prolong your life in the land the Lord swore to give to your fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” (Deuteronomy 30:19-20 HCSB)

We cannot participate in, or promote, spiritual dysfunction. As a result we may be persecuted. However we must tell the truth and live it as an example to the world. We are called to be the light dispelling the darkness. We must shine.

I have been thinking about persecution and wonder why we're surprised that it happens.

Jesus said in John 16:33 AMPC:

"I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]"

He told us we would face tribulation, trials, distress, and frustration - all forms of persecution, yet some believers tend to become upset when this happens. They seem to want smooth sailing. I think some of this attitude is the result of imbalanced teaching. That's why it's critical to teach His Word in its entirety.
