Chosen by God!
As we evaluate our goals for 2018 keep in mind the importance of where we seek wisdom and who we are connected to. Everyone cannot speak life into your situation.
To stand firm in our faith without wavering, we are to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly and demonstrate integrity in all that we do. Both Psalms 1 and 27 give clear instructions on how the righteous are to live, who we are to associate with, and what we can expect from God when we choose His way of doing things.
These Psalms remind us that we must choose who we go to for wisdom, insight, and advice. How can an unbeliever give us insight and even wisdom when they don’t have common ground with believers? Would you let a mechanic operate on your body? No! We would go to the person with the expertise about the illness or issue we are facing. The same is true in spiritual matters. We must seek wisdom, insight, and counsel from other believers, preferably spiritually mature believers, whose source of wisdom is based on the Word of God and who have a solid intimate relationship with the Lord.
As I read both Psalms I was reminded of this Scripture:
“Don’t become partners with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? That’s not partnership; that’s war. Is light best friends with dark? Does Christ go strolling with the Devil? Do trust and mistrust hold hands? Who would think of setting up pagan idols in God’s holy Temple?” (II Corinthians 6:14-16a MSG)
Who we are connected to matters. Choose your connections wisely, with the help of the Holy Spirit. It might mean making some changes in your circle. Trust God to determine who should be in your life, and whose season is over. Make a determination to opt for Divine Connections every time! Your spiritual health and purpose depend on it.
