Encouragement Nugget - We Are Covered!

Chosen by God!

“But while it’s true that I am one of your family redeemers, there is another man who is more closely related to you than I am. Stay here tonight, and in the morning I will talk to him. If he is willing to redeem you, very well. Let him marry you. But if he is not willing, then as surely as the Lord lives, I will redeem you myself! Now lie down here until morning.” (Ruth 3:12-13 NLT)

Boaz acknowledges his relationship to Ruth as a kinsmen redeemer. He’s an honorable man that also advises her there is another kinsmen redeemer. He covers Ruth letting her know that He will redeem her through marriage if this man does not. He then invites her to rest under his protection after assuring her that he will take care of her.

There is a parallel here for us. Jesus is our Kinsmen Redeemer. He gave His life for us so that we could be engrafted, adopted fully, into the family of God. He invites us to rest in Him while assuring us that everything has been made right because He is our covering. He covered, removing our sins protecting us, giving us victory in this life, while ensuring our eternity is secured with Him, in Him. He’s already paid the price for the remission of our sins so there is nothing left for us to do but to walk in it. Just as Ruth had to trust Boaz, we must trust God’s plan, through the shed blood of Jesus, for our lives.

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You! Thank You for the price You paid to redeem me from eternal separation from You. Help me to always trust Your plan for my life and where You are leading me. Like Ruth, I choose to rest in You and trust You with the details of my life. Thank You for loving me so much. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Be Encouraged! ❤
