"Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5 AMPC)
It's a hard road when we are called by God, consecrated, and set apart for His service. We must deny ourselves and pick up our cross daily to follow Him. It's not easy or everyone would be doing it.
"And He said to all, If any person wills to come after Me, let him deny himself [disown himself, forget, lose sight of himself and his own interests, refuse and give up himself] and take up his cross daily and follow Me [cleave steadfastly to Me, conform wholly to My example in living and, if need be, in dying also]." (Luke 9:23 AMPC)
For some, putting people down validates their choices. To consider an alternative means they must look at themselves and possibly have to make changes.
All we can do is to continue to be salt and light, letting our words and actions reflect Him. Don't be distracted by what people say or do. Keep your eyes on Jesus, walk in purpose, and shine!
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16 AMPC)
It's a journey for sure. Thankfully we don't take it alone. Holy Spirit is with us and empowers us. He gives us what we need right when we need it.
"And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever." (John 14:16 AMPC)
Trust God. You can do whatever He has called you to do. He equips the called so the results bring Him glory.
Get up! Get going! We must be about our Father's business!
"I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]." (Philippians 4:13 AMPC)
