Chosen by God!

We are here as light to a dark sin impacted world.

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV)

While there is so much evil in the world believers can make a difference. The Word shows us how to do this.

“Do not repay anyone evil for evil for evil. Try to do what is honorable in everyone’s eyes.” (Romans 12:17 HCSB)

“Do not be conquered by evil, with good.” (Romans 12:21 HCSB)

Whenever it is possible, and does not go against the Word of God, we are to do what is honorable, conqueror evil with good, and walk in love! It’s by our love, and our consistency in love, that we will make a difference.

Though we are not to take the law into our own hands, we should practice our civic responsibilities as Christians and citizens by consistently praying for those in authority and praying for one another. We must speak out against evil and social injustice. Sin is sin and we must call it that and not just fall in line with political correctness when it goes against biblical correctness. It is our responsibility to educate ourselves on the issues impacting us and on the backgrounds of those running for political offices, so we can wisely exercise our right to vote.

As believers we must follow the laws of the land, unless they violate the laws of God. Even when it seems like evil is winning we can remain in peace, and in hope, because God’s Word promises justice and judgment.
