Chosen by God!
Would you get in your car to drive to another state that you have never been to before without a map, GPS, or written directions? Would you waste your time and your gas driving aimlessly? Would you ever get where you wanted to go when you began the journey? Unless you attach goals to your vision you’ll live life aimlessly, while wasting time and never reaching your desired destination. The difference between a dream and a goal is the written word. Our goals need to be complete and focused, much like a road map.
When you write your plans, dreams, hopes, goals, vision down you can:
1. Stay focused and on track
2. Recognize and combat obstacles, dream stealers, and sabotage (both self-inflicted and inflicted by others)
3. Measure and recognize your success
Thankfully the Word of God has something to say about writing the vision:
“And the Lord answered me and said, Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by. For the vision is yet for an appointed time and it hastens to the end [fulfillment]; it will not deceive or disappoint. Though it tarry, wait [earnestly] for it, because it will surely come; it will not be behindhand on its appointed day.” (Habakkuk 2:2-3 AMP)
We’re encouraged to write the vision so we can see it/read it daily. We’re reminded that the vision, a God given vision, will come to pass! We’re also strengthened by knowing it will not deceive or disappoint. And we’re inspired to continue no matter how long it takes because the vision has an appointed time. It will come to pass! Remember, there is a set time and an appointed time for the process and for its completion.
Let this be our prayer:
“All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change comes.” (Job 14:14 KJV)
Here’s some advice on creating goals.
Create S.M.A.R.T. Goals. Goals that are:
Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Timely/Tangible
Be Encouraged! ❤
