He Gave Gifts
Chosen by God!
We serve a triune God and each part of the trinity gave us a gift. Have you unwrapped them all?
1.God gave us Jesus – John 3:16 NLT “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
2.Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit – John 16:7 AMP “However, I am telling you nothing but the truth when I say it is profitable (good, expedient, advantageous) for you that I go away. Because if I do not go away, the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) will not come to you [into close fellowship with you]; but if I go away, I will send Him to you [to be in close fellowship with you].”
3.The Holy Spirit gave us God’s Wisdom & Direction – John 16:13 AMP “But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future].”
Pastor Todd Holts showed us on Sunday the Holy Spirit sealed promise inside of us. Ephesians 1:13-14 MSG: "It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life."
After knowing all that God has done for us, all He’s given us, I ask again, are you using the inheritance that God has given us through Jesus Christ? Have you discounted the power in the blood of Jesus?
It’s the time of the year when we consider the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ the Savior of the world. Shouldn’t we use what His life, death, and resurrection provided for us?
One of the best gifts we can give to God, and the world, is to see ourselves the way God sees us, which comes by defining ourselves by what the Word says about us and not what the world says about us.
