Pray Always

Chosen by God!

“Rejoice always and delight in your faith; be unceasing and persistent in prayer; in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18 AMP)

We should make it a priority to pray very specifically and consistently for our government leaders. We can take praying for our government leaders for granted when things are going well. When things are challenging prayer becomes a focus. In the aftermath of evens on 9/11 there was a call to prayer all across America, and the world. People who would normally not pray, or even want prayer banned joined in. This was a time of harvest for the church that we totally missed in so many ways.

While these things are true corporately they are also true individually. One can tend to spend more time with the Lord, in His Word, and in prayer when faced with difficulties. Then when things are back to smooth sailing many walk away from the intimacy with God until the next challenge. This is why a establishing a life of pray is so important. When prayer, time with the Lord, and time in His Presence is a way of life we’re more firmly anchored, and better able, to face the storms of life.

“But keep alert at all times [be attentive and ready], praying that you may have the strength and ability [to be found worthy and] to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man [at His coming].” (Luke 21:36 AMP)
