Chosen by God!
When we falter in our walk with God, we should draw strength from God’s faithfulness to us. We can draw strength from God’s faithfulness without allowing ourselves to become careless in the way we live our Christian lives by believing He is God and He is faithful. We can stand on the many promises in His Word about who He is and His faithfulness.
“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” (Numbers 23:19 NLT)
"No temptation [regardless of its source] has overtaken or enticed you that is not common to human experience [nor is any temptation unusual or beyond human resistance]; but God is faithful [to His word—He is compassionate and trustworthy], and He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability [to resist], but along with the temptation He [has in the past and is now and] will [always] provide the way out as well, so that you will be able to endure it [without yielding, and will overcome temptation with joy]." (I Corinthians 10:13 AMP)
"The Lord appeared to Israel from ages past, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you and continued My faithfulness to you." (Jeremiah 31:3 AMP)
“For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.” (Malachi 3:6 NKJV)
The Word is filled with God’s faithfulness. No matter what the people did God did not change. He was always there when they came to their senses and returned to Him. Through the Word we see a pattern of His character, His faithfulness. When we love Him we will not take His faithfulness, His love, His character for granted. Instead we will walk in love and obedience with the help of the Holy Spirit. When we miss it we can be assured of His forgiveness, (I John 1:9), His mercy, (Lamentations 3:22-24), and that He does not, will not condemn us, (Romans 8:1). We can be assured that even we are not faithful He will always be faithful.
