Your Word is My Mission

Chosen by God!

"Your word I have treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against You." (Psalm 119:11 NLT)

To fulfill God’s ideal plan, we should begin to learn His Word as children so that we will seek to do His will throughout our lives. We each should teach children (and even adults) the Word of God so that it equips them “for every good work.” It begins with our own personal relationship with our Abba Father and His Word. We must develop an intimate relationship with His Word, treasuring it, and hiding it in our hearts so it becomes our anchor and compass. The more of the Word we put in us, the more the Word will come out of us. It becomes a way of life that others can see and want to know more about.

Teaching is not just sitting in a classroom, or even one-on-one, though both are needed. Teaching is living what you believe, even when it’s not popular, and being prepared to give a reason for your hope in God, your lifestyle, your trust in God and answering questions about how you stand in trials when others are falling. It can’t just be words, it must also include the action of living it daily. When we love someone, we spend time with them learning about them, growing in understanding, and becoming more like them.

While teaching and preaching the Word have their place, how we live, the words we speak, the choices we make, will be more impactful than any classroom experience. What we teach and preach must be reflected in how we live or our words mean nothing and will impact no one.

When someone truly loves the Lord and treasures His Word, before they ever speak, the way the carry themselves will announce who they are and what they believe. We become a reflection of Him in the full sense of the word. The greatest gift we can give another is for them to be able to see Jesus in us without us ever saying a word.

“Hear, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.(Deuteronomy 6:4-7 NLT)
