Chosen by God!
Forgiveness does not mean restored trust or direct access. Forgiveness means I forgive the offense, the hurt, will continue to pray for you, and will walk in love with you.
Because you no longer have access to my heart, or get a seat at the table of my life, does not mean I haven't forgiven you. It just means we cannot walk together during this season of the journey. It means I've released the pain you caused to God and trust Him to heal any pain I may have caused. It means I must exercise wisdom and discernment in greater measure where you are concerned.
It also means, I've left the door open for God to do what needs to be done. He is a Restorer. If He chooses to restore what was broken I trust Him. If He chooses to close the door permanently I trust Him.
What I have learned is trying to walk through doors God has closed is futile. So what you meant to tear me down God actually used to build me up. Sometimes what we see as someone walking out is really God putting them out.
“Jesus was matter-of-fact: ‘Embrace this God-life. Really embrace it, and nothing will be too much for you. This mountain, for instance: Just say, 'Go jump in the lake'—no shuffling or shilly-shallying—and it's as good as done. That's why I urge you to pray for absolutely everything, ranging from small to large. Include everything as you embrace this God-life, and you'll get God's everything. And when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it's not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive—only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.’" (Mark 11:22-25 MSG)
