Because our Eternity is Sealed in Christ, Believer's Can Enjoy Life Now

Chosen by God!

If we are to enjoy life on this earth and eternity with God, we must come to know Him personally through the Lord Jesus Christ. Our personal and intimate relationship with Jesus is the foundation of our beliefs and our strength. Without it life becomes something you get through while trying to amass things that does give lasting joy. With it life becomes something you live and love through knowing it is pit stop on the way to eternity with God. Therefore amassing things is not important but living a life that reflects Jesus to others becomes our focus. This is what brings real joy. This is what allows us to live through the challenges of life.

Even though life on this earth is temporal and life with God is eternal, as Christians it is possible to enjoy life in the here and now more fully than unbelievers, regardless of our circumstances. The reason for this is that we know life on earth is temporary and we have the assurance of eternity with God. This knowledge helps us to put life on earth in perspective. It also helps us to live with eternity in mind.

When our faith is grounded in Him we can make this declaration about our lives:

“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (Philippians 3:12-14 NLT)

This is why it is possible for believer to enjoy life in the here and now more fully than unbelievers, regardless of our circumstances. We are always moving toward Jesus.
