Chosen by God!

We should live godly lives before unbelievers in a way that will cause them to want to know more about what we believe. The best way we can live our lives, both personally and corporately, to be more effective witnesses in this world is by walking in love and unity. Our actions and reactions should be so different from the worlds that the world takes notice. When asked the “how” question, (how do you do that?), we can point them to Jesus explaining that because we’ve accepted Him as Savior, and made Him Lord of our lives, He gives us the strength to face whatever comes in a way that reflect Who we belong to. Because of the gift of the Holy Spirit we’re able to walk in love and promote unity.

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (Romans 5:5 NKJV)

We must always remember that people may not always remember all we say but they will remember how we act. When our actions align with our beliefs and our confession, then people’s lives can be transformed and God will get all of the glory.

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.” (Matthew 5:13 NKJV)

I love the reference to salt. Since it’s a preservative and changes the taste of things that’s a great analogy to what believers are to do. We should be preserving the Word of God by sharing it to unbelievers every time an opportunity presents itself. Wherever we are our presence should change the atmosphere because of our walk with the Lord.
