What Worship Means to Me

Chosen by God!
Worship is acknowledging God for who He is. It's giving Him the place of honor in my life, putting Him first. An important part of worship is, loving Him with all my heart unconditionally, not just in words but in my actions and my life choices. It's a lifestyle of thankfulness and awareness that the Creator of the universe cares about me individually. It's realizing that it was nothing I did, and nothing I can do, yet He chose to love me and create me anyway. It's sitting in a place of awe and reverence in the presence of my Abba Father. Truthfully, it's being able to even call Him Abba Father, Daddy.
It's a lifestyle of relationship, fellowship, and intimacy that's developed through spending quality time in His presence, in His Word, in prayer, in praise, in thanksgiving, and in worship. It’s talking to Him and listening to Him, remembering that prayer is a dialogue and not a monologue. It is a desire that my choices will be pleasing in His sight. I just want to hear God say, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” I want God to call me a good and faithful servant. I want God to know just how much I love Him, how important He is in my life. These are some of the reasons I worship Him. Honestly, now that I know Him I can’t help myself. Worship just comes out of me for Him.
It's walking in His purpose for my life. Most importantly it's submission to His authority and total surrender, to His love, and His direction for me. It's a spirit of thanksgiving no matter what is going on. How do you do that in the midst of pain, destruction, disappointment, and devastation? Trust! I trust that the God I worship, the God I serve, the God I have an intimate relationship with, the God I love, and the God that loves me so much that He sent His only Son to die for me, will get me through it. It is a belief that no matter what all things will work out for my good and His glory.
Worship is a lifestyle of honoring my Abba Father, Daddy, whom I love with my whole heart. It’s looking up and not around in the midst of a storm and when everything is calm. It’s being thankful in all things at all times because I know without a doubt that my Abba Father, Daddy loves me and He’s right there where I am. Worship is, loving God more than anyone or anything and not being afraid to show it or to declare it.
