Chosen by God!
When we seek to know God, we should search for Him with all our hearts, knowing that He will ultimately respond. Why some people may refuse to seek God’s help even though they are experiencing difficult circumstances could depend on whether they are believers are non-believers. Overall it could be the result of living in a world where independence, figuring things out for yourself is seen as being strong – competent even, and depending on others is seen as being weak. Another reason could be based on how you see God – loving Father or harsh disciplinarian.
Non- believers would not consider God as a resource, while believers may be experiencing guilt and condemnation if the trouble they are experiencing is based on knowingly making bad choices. Ultimately it comes down to loving God and truly believing that He loves us. Then we must take it to the next level and trust Him with every area of our lives by truly depending on Him. Dependence on Him would cause us to turn to Him with the very details of our lives. He wants to be involved but will only do so when we invite Him in.
No matter what we do He loves us. We have to get to the point that we trust the love, realize we don’t have all of the answers, and acknowledge our need for Him. It’s at this point of surrender that we can believe Jeremiah 29:11-13 (HCSB):
“For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. You will call to Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
He has a good plan for us, a plan that includes a future and a hope. He will answer us when we call on Him and pray to Him. He will listen to us. And He promises that when we seek Him with all of our hearts we will find Him.
