Chosen by God!
I am so thankful that He loved me, (us), so much that He gave His only begotten Son in my, (our), place. Now I, (we), shall not perish but have eternal life by believing in our hearts, confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord, and believing that God raised Him from the dead. Simply stated, it’s a free gift from our loving Abba Father because He wanted us back, in the family, so much. This is love, unconditional and everlasting. Remember, while it’s a free gift to us, it cost our heavenly Father everything, His Son. We can’t take our salvation for granted.
Pilate asked, “Then what should I do with Jesus who is called the Messiah?” (Matthew 27:22 NLT)
It is a question we must all consider. Our awareness of this question, and how we answer this question, will determine how we live our lives. When we consider Jesus we choose love even in the most difficult of situations. When we consider Jesus we choose a life that reflects Him. When we consider Jesus we make choices that don’t break our heavenly Father’s heart.
“So, since Christ suffered in the flesh for us, for you, arm yourselves with the same thought and purpose [patiently to suffer rather than fail to please God]. For whoever has suffered in the flesh [having the mind of Christ] is done with [intentional] sin [has stopped pleasing himself and the world, and pleases God], So that he can no longer spend the rest of his natural life living by [his] human appetites and desires, but [he lives] for what God wills. (I Peter 4:1-2 AMPC)
We were brought with a price, the precious blood of Jesus. However, salvation is a gift that we can accept or deny. Our loving Abba Father invites and does not command. He wants us to choose to love Him. We accept this gift by doing the following:
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.” (Romans 10:9-10 NLT)
It’s that simple!
