Chosen by God!
God is really dealing with me about dying to self and the importance of obedience, to Him, His Word, and His way. He’s asking me to be silent. I don’t have to respond to everything.
"Understand [this], my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear [a ready listener], slow to speak, slow to take offense and to get angry." (James 1:19 AMP)
Listening more, really listening causes us to speak less. More importantly it really makes you think. We really don't need to share everything we think! (My husband tells me this all the time. I guess I need to listen more, LOL!)
Then there's obedience. Don't you just love it when God doesn't allow you to defend yourself, to be right, or prove you're right? His ways are so not our ways but I want to walk in His ways. So if it requires shutting up when I really want to just say it, buckling down where I don’t want to be, or whatever goes against my selfish flesh – well that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
There is a price we pay when we do it God's way and not the world’s way. Yes, it hurts and people don't understand and even ridicule you but just remember the rewards of living an obedient and surrendered life. It's so much more than we think. It may not seem like it in the moment, but don't quit putting a period where God placed a comma. The best is yet to come!
I'm not settling for less than God’s best. I’ve done things my way before and the results weren’t that great. I’m walking with my loving Abba Father, trusting Him with the outcomes. I’m submitting to being shaped and molded by Him. I’m willing to stay in God’s operating room until I walk in spiritual maturity and the fullness of who He has called me to be. This is going to be a lifelong process. I’ve counted the cost and I’m on Team Jesus!
"My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart." (Psalm 7:10 NKJV)
