Chosen by God!

“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” (Philippians 3:12-14 NLT)

The only time to look at the past is to marvel and thank our Abba Father for how far He's brought us. We can give thanks that we are not the same person we were before encountering Jesus. While we haven't made it where He wants us to be we are moving forward by His grace and with His help to where He wants us.

Be thankful we are able to recognize our growth and not be tricked by the lies of the enemy who wants us to believe that nothing has changed. Once we encounter Jesus we are no longer the same. The more time we spend with Him the greater our transformation. This is why we must not stay in the past or focus on what we perceive to be missed opportunities. Nothing God has for us can be taken away from us as long as we are obedient and stay connected to the Living Vine, Jesus Christ. Our God can take whatever we think we messed up and turn it into a powerful testimony that brings Him glory.

Stay present because God is present. He told Moses, I AM. That’s right now. Live in the moment.

“Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands.” (Isaiah 43:18-19 MSG)
