In Jesus We Have it All

Chosen by God!

Though God is faithful, merciful, and forgiving, we should never continue to sin in order to experience more of His grace. When I think of everything God had given, and done, for us corporately as a people, and individually, all I can say is HALLELUJAH!

While I’m thankful for the forgiveness He provides according to 1st John 1:9, (“But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” NLT), the new mercies He gives daily according to Lamentation 3:22-23, (“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” NKJV), and that He doesn’t condemn us according to Romans 8:1, (“Therefore, [there is] now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live [and] walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.” AMPC)

I can’t use any of this as a license to willfully sin just because He loves me and will forgive me. Instead I want to use the Word to grow, become more like Him, and please Him.

We can’t keep rules. That was proven in the Old Testament. We can’t atone for our sins. This is why He sent us Jesus, so we can believe in Him, trust Him, and walk in the priceless gift of salvation He has provided for us. Living legalistically brings with it the belief that we can “earn” our way to the Father through good works. It also brings condemnation because we will never get it right.

I am so thankful for a loving God that laid the path to freedom in Him through the gift of salvation. I am so thankful that in His sovereignty He provided a way for us to make our way back to Him when we sin. I am thankful that He doesn’t condemn us, instead He gives us continuous opportunities to get it right through forgiveness, new mercies, grace, and His unconditional love for us.

I will take these gifts from my Abba Father over man’s laws that we can never fully keep. I am thankful for the Lamb of God that took away my sins and causes God to see me as His child and sinless because of the blood. This does not give me a license to deliberately sin but it does give me access to be cleansed of sin.
