Chosen by God!

Today is the third day of my birthday month, my New Year.

My focus today is on friendship.

I am thankful for the “Divine Connections” God has placed in my life. One such connection is “The Lord’s Gang.” (Katharyn and Bernice) We have been there for each other through many challenges and many celebrations, encouraging, loving, and caring for each other. We are real with each other. We listen and speak the truth in love while supporting each other.

"Oil and perfume make the heart glad; So does the sweetness of a friend’s counsel that comes from the heart." (Proverbs 27:9 AMPC)

Reflection Nugget - Life was not meant to be lived alone. We need each other. Through friendship comes balance, especially when our friends are straightforward, telling us the truth in love. They may not always say what we want to hear but they will always say what we need to hear! Our emotions can lead us in the wrong direction but sound counsel is priceless!

"Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], But in the abundance of [wise and godly] counselors there is victory." (Proverbs 11:14 AMPC)

I have learned the importance of friends that are willing to stand with you, laugh with you, cry with you, listen to you, and then help you get back up to live life God's way. I have learned the blessing of godly friends. It doesn't mean we always agree. It means we always love and point one another to Jesus in the midst of everything that is going on in our lives.
