Chosen by God!

Today is the eighth day of my birthday month, my New Year.

My focus today is on worship and praise.

Those of us that believe, and trust, in Jesus have the basis for worship. It is only through intimate relationship with Him that we gain the foundation of true worship. When we think about God’s grace, mercy, goodness, love, and so much more we can’t help but worship Him with our whole hearts. He has done so much for us!

Worship is active and participatory. We are not to be spectators. The choir, or praise team, is not there to entertain us but to help us, collectively and inclusively, come into the very Presence of God. Even if you can’t sing, which is my challenge, you can make a joyful noise, which I do well! You’re not holding the mic but you are holding God’s attention. This is our time to adore Him, telling Him, showing Him, just how you feel about Him.

Praise gets God’s attention and brings Him on the scene!

“But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3 KJV)

Praise also stills the avenger, rendering him powerless.

“Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” (Psalm 8:2 NIV)

Praise and worship allows us to enter deeper into the heart of God and causes us to see things from His perspective.

Reflection Nugget – There is untapped power in praise and worship. Don’t wait for Sunday morning to get your praise and worship on, instead make praise and worship a way of life every day.

When I think of praise and worship, I picture God as proud Papa, listening to the praises of His Children and just smiling and basking in it. I love this picture of Him!
