Birthday Month Reflections - Day 23!

Chosen by God!

Today is the twenty third day of my Birthday Month, New Year, and New Season. I have left one year behind and have entered into a new year with new possibilities.

My focus today is on knowing who showed up!

When God is going to bless you He sends a man. When the devil is going to curse you he sends a man. Our job is to know who showed up!

On May 17, 2016 I received an invitation to speak at a conference, in London, England. I was given the information about the conference and my topic. My initial response was, look at God! I did a mental happy dance! Then I was like, really? Don’t get me wrong. I know God can do more than I can ask, think, or imagine!

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us.” (Ephesians 3:20 AMPC)

I responded and made them aware that I travel with my husband. I received a response, along with a contract that included a promise of two business class tickets, and a seriously significant honorarium. I book speakers for our church conference and this was higher than ALL of the honorariums I’ve been quoted for known and established speakers. That just made me think something wasn’t right. Again, I was not doubting God. I was just feeling something was off.

Following after peace I have chosen not to accept this offer.

While God is able to open any door He chooses I just couldn’t wrap my head around the offer that came out of nowhere, their willingness to accommodate my husband’s expenses, the business class tickets, and the money being offered. Yes God can do it. The question was did He do it?

I’ve since learned that this is a scam, a very successful scam at that! They rope you in with an attractive offer that seems too good to be true. And honestly, that saying that if it’s too good to be true, it’s probably not true, is spot on. The offer is a ploy that could get your pride engaged and cause you not to see what’s really going on. After all, you’ve been waiting, hoping, to be invited to speak somewhere. They offer to “help” expedite your visa, for a fee. It’s after you pay this exorbitant fee that you never hear from them again.

Sadly, they’ve done this to many people. I’m thankful that I wasn’t one of them. My Pastor, at the time, said something very encouraging to me about this. He said God is getting ready to open doors for you that’s why the enemy tried to offer a counterfeit engagement!

I believe God is going to open doors for me. And when He does it is not going to cost me a cent. He called me and He equipped me. He will introduce me and present me, in His timing, exactly where He wants me to be a blessing and bring glory to Him. I don’t have to grasp at fake offers. God has some real offers that are my assignment from Him. I have chosen to wait on Him and His timing.

Again I’m reminded, when God is going to bless you He sends a man. When the devil is going to curse you he sends a man. Our job is to know who showed up!

Stay tuned, because God isn't finished with me yet! And I’m so thankful that He is not! The best is yet to come!

Be Encouraged! ❤
