Chosen by God!
“So Ruth went out to gather grain behind the harvesters. And as it happened, she found herself working in a field that belonged to Boaz, the relative of her father-in-law, Elimelech.” (Ruth 2:3 NLT)
Ruth’s heart was to help her mother-in-law and herself by harvesting behind the harvesters. She finds herself in a relative’s field. I see that as God’s favor. They have returned to a Bethlehem that if fruitful and are positioned to participate in the fruitfulness. While Naomi came in empty she is now being filled.
We see that Ruth worked, wanted to provide for herself and for Naomi. She saw herself as part of the family. This is a reminder that we all must contribute to the family. It’s never just about us. We are part of a family, both natural and spiritual when we are children of God.
FAITH CONFESSION:
Lord help me to have a servant’s heart. Remind me that it’s not just about me but always about You, bringing glory to Your Name, and about the people You have connected me too.
