Chosen by God!

We can make our needs and desires known, without allowing selfish motives to manipulate others, by taking them to God first. Allow the Holy Spirit to let us know when to say something and when to be silent. Many times we are asked if we need something and immediately respond with no. That may be pride. We don’t want others to know we have needs.

When we’ve been in prayer asking God to meet our needs in areas and someone asks us about our needs, could that be an answer to prayer? We must be willing to be vulnerable and open to members of the Body of Christ and trust God’s direction. We don’t know who God is going to use that’s why we must listen to the Holy Spirit and obey.

“Then the Lord said to him, “Go and live in the village of Zarephath, near the city of Sidon. There is a widow there who will feed you. I have given her my instructions.” (I Kings 17:8-9 TLB)

Just as God directed Elijah to provision He will direct us to provision. The key is to have an intimate relationship/fellowship with God, study His Word, and listen to His voice. When we are not in a relationship/fellowship with God it becomes easier to be manipulative of others. It’s that healthy relationship with the Lord that balances our relationships with others.
