Chosen by God!
Cleaning it up, dressing it up, making it politically or socially acceptable doesn't change the fact that sin is sin. It's dangerous to think otherwise.
We must acknowledge the impact of sin in our lives and then deal with the sin in our lives, especially willful sin.
“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2 AMPC)
Sin separates us from the Father and that's a place we should never want to be. It also causes our prayers to go unanswered. The cost is too steep. Changing the name doesn't change the consequence.
Take a moment to confess your sin:
“Generous in love—God, give grace! Huge in mercy—wipe out my bad record. Scrub away my guilt, soak out my sins in your laundry. I know how bad I’ve been; my sins are staring me down.” (Psalm 51:1-3 MSG)
Now ask God to cleanse you of your sin:
“Soak me in your laundry and I’ll come out clean, scrub me and I’ll have a snow-white life.” (Psalm 51:7 MSG)
Finally, with God’s help, begin again:
“God, make a fresh start in me, shape a Genesis week from the chaos of my life. Don’t throw me out with the trash, or fail to breathe holiness in me.” (Psalm 51:10-11 MSG)
