Chosen by God,
Let’s continue looking at the man at that Pool of Bethesda, (See John 5:1-13 for details and look at yesterday’s devotional, if you haven’t already read it.)
He hung out at the pool, for thirty-eight years, but had no hope of being healed so he embraced his illness. He held on so tight that when Jesus came he didn’t even recognize his chance to be healed. (The Living Pool was coming to him!) Thankfully, Jesus spoke into his situation and he was healed! Jesus will meet us where we’re at to take us where He wants us to be.
The question you must ask yourself is, “Do you want to be healed?” Then you must look at what you’re doing to get there! As hard as this is to hear, and to say, (because I’m speaking to myself too, so I feel the pain of it!), some of you don’t want to be healed because it’s too hard. It’s unfamiliar. You’re comfortable with your stuff, because you know just what to expect! You look at your circumstances, your past and determine there’s no hope. Then, after a while you don’t even bother looking anymore. You no longer see the possibilities or the hope. You need to snap out of it and look to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith, and remember you were created on purpose for purpose!
Take a moment and read the story about the man at Bethesda and meditate on it. Ask the Lord to show you how this might apply to your life and what your next step(s) should be. Remember, healing and wholeness is just a prayer away. Your faith can make you whole and heal you.
“But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.” (Matthew 9:22 KJV)
“And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.” (Mark 10:52 KJV)
