"Be on guard; stand firm in your faith [in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound]. Act like [mature] men and be courageous; be strong. Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us]." (I Corinthians 16:13-14 AMPC)
We must be on guard while standing firm in the faith because the enemy is always looking for someone to pick off! We must walk in love, be motivated by love, and be inspired by love, because the enemy's goal is to cause discord in the Body of Christ.
"Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour." (1 Peter 5:8 AMPC)
We must keep a firm grip on our faith. Remember all Satan can do is roam around “like” a roaring lion. In other words, it's all smoke screens and mirrors. He has nothing original to offer. He tries to get us by deception, making us think something is that really isn't. If he can get us to believe his lies, then he’s got us.
A body can't function when it's fighting itself. Dissension, discord, lack of unity is one of the greatest assets the enemy has in his arsenal. All he has to do is get one person in strife and he can take out an entire group! Don't allow yourself to be his pawn.
The thing to know is he's a master of deception. If he can get us to believe the lie, then he's got us!
Remember this:
Our strength does not depend on us, it depends on God. When we are connected to Him, and directed by Him, we can walk in victory. The enemy has already been defeated. Some fights we don't have to participate in! Glory to God!
"I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency]." (Philippians 4:13 AMPC)
